Smoking Lands Desert Mouth Maze is an Ancient Ruin puzzle in the Demeniss region. Solving it activates the Abyss Cresset and rewards one Abyss Artifact plus a permanent fast travel point. This is the most complex maze challenge in Crimson Desert, requiring you to match 11 doors to sun and moon symbols shown on a central diagram.
- STEP 01
Find the Ruins
Fast travel to the nearest Abyss Nexus point in Demeniss region and head toward the Smoking Lands desert area. The maze ruins appear as a large ancient stone structure rising from the desert floor. Use Guiding Light (L1+R1 / LB+RB) to locate the glowing Abyss Cresset inside the maze structure.

Study the central diagram carefully before touching any doors. Screenshot or memorize which symbol goes where — you cannot refer back to the diagram while navigating the maze sections.
- STEP 02
Solve the Door Symbol Maze
Find the central diagram on the ground near the Cresset — it is a map of the entire area showing all 11 doors and which symbol each needs to show. One door on the south is already correct, leave it alone. For each remaining door: use Axiom Force to grapple it, then charge Force Current to flip it. Climb to the top of walls to spot doors more easily. The hardest door to find is in a small vine-covered nook in the bottom-northwest section of the area. When all 11 doors match the diagram they will light up, activating the Abyss Cresset.

The final door in the vine-covered nook is easy to miss entirely. Search the bottom-northwest section thoroughly and clear all vegetation. Force Current can flip doors multiple times, so don't panic if you overshoot the correct symbol.
